We are currently seeking a machine learning software developer to accelerate the development of new solutions for large-scale carbon quantification projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate will work within a data science team composed of data scientists and software engineers. This role aims to support and enhance the team’s analytical workflows by developing internal tools that facilitate data cleansing, transformation, analysis, and visualization. The goal is to strengthen the team’s ability to generate insights and produce high-quality reports for both clients and internal stakeholders.

This is a technical position that requires strong programming and problem-solving skills, as well as a good understanding of data analysis, statistics, and the real-world needs of a data science team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

– Support data cleansing and integration to improve data quality and readiness for modeling and reporting
– Develop and maintain internal tools to standardize the generation of insights, metrics, and visualizations used in client and internal reports
– Collaborate closely with data scientists to understand modeling needs and ensure the technical infrastructure supports end-to-end workflows
– Apply a development approach to build scalable and maintainable systems, with a strong understanding of data science metrics, use cases, and evaluation criteria
– Contribute to the quality, consistency, and reliability of the team’s analytical processes through a rigorous, tool-oriented approach

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

– Diplôme universitaire en sciences informatiques, génie informatique, mathématiques, statistiques, ou toute autre combinaison de formation et d’expérience pertinente
– 2 ans d’expérience en déploiement de modèles d’apprentissage automatique dans un contexte professionnel
– Excellente maîtrise du français parlé et écrit
– Maîtrise de l’anglais écrit dans un contexte de programmation informatique

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

– Excellent command of Python, including object-oriented programming, as well as data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, plotly)
– Solid understanding of statistics and analytical workflows, including the challenges of field data
– Proficiency in version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development best practices
– Ability to translate analytical needs into clear, modular, and maintainable code
– Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit—able to work closely with data scientists and understand evolving needs
– Adaptability, autonomy, and resourcefulness in a dynamic and constantly changing environment
– Experience developing internal tools or utilities to facilitate analysis or reporting in an efficient and standardized manner is an asset
– A strong interest in programming in a scientific context
– Knowledge of spectroscopy and/or agronomy
– Familiarity with and interest in Agile methodology
