SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Head of Carbon, you will play a crucial role in our technology company specialized in real-time soil health data. We are facing a growing demand to meet the needs of the agricultural carbon market, and we are seeking an expert in this field to fill the position of Head of Carbon and Sustainability.

We are looking for a problem solving driven individual with a deep understanding of the agricultural carbon and carbon credit domain. You will be responsible for identifying the key industry challenges to guide our product team and support the commercialization effort to address the needs of the agricultural carbon credit industry.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership:

– Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic roadmap in collaboration with the Head of Product to establish our company as a key player in the agricultural carbon market.

– Identify emerging industry trends, challenges, and opportunities, and provide guidance to the product team in alignment with market needs.

Agricultural Carbon Expertise

– Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the agricultural carbon domain, including carbon credit mechanisms, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.

– Stay abreast of the latest advancements and research in agricultural carbon practices, and proactively translate that knowledge into actionable insights for product development.

Product Development:

– Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize product requirements that cater to the specific needs of the agricultural carbon credit industry.

– Lead the development and launch of innovative products that offer efficient and accurate measurement of soil nutrients for carbon credits.

Industry Engagement:

– Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, agricultural carbon credit companies, regulatory bodies, and industry experts.

– Represent our company at industry conferences, seminars, and events to promote our expertise in the agricultural carbon sector.

Business Development

– Identify potential strategic partnerships and collaborations that can enhance our market presence and create new business opportunities.

– Stay informed about competitive offerings in the agricultural carbon space and recommend strategies to maintain our competitive edge.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

– Proven track record of entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial success, ideally within the agricultural carbon or related environmental sectors.

– Deep knowledge of agricultural carbon practices, carbon credit mechanisms, and relevant regulations.

– Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively represent the company and establish productive relationships with clients and partners.

– Strong innovation mindset and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to anticipate changing market needs and propose creative solutions.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

– Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English (French is an asset), to effectively represent the company and establish productive relationships with clients and partners.

– A strong inclination for innovation and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to anticipate changing market needs and propose creative solutions.

– Proficiency in commonly used software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

– Experience with online collaborative applications and platforms such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.

– Ability to use specialized software for data analysis or modeling, related to the agricultural carbon domain, would be an asset.

– Advanced computer skills and a knack for quickly learning new software and technologies related to the field.

– These software skills will be an additional advantage for the successful candidate as they will facilitate communication, collaboration, and data analysis within the team, as well as the creation of professional documents and presentations.
