The team is growing (again!) to accommodate our strong growth! And we are currently looking for a Data  Analyst who wants to evolve in a young technology company.

SUMMARY POSITION DESCRIPTION

The data analysis team supports the company’s efforts in analyzing the performance of ChrysaLabs technology with clients and in carrying out large-scale projects for the development of new tools that enhance various soil data. The hybrid role combines the analytical skills of a data analyst with the technical expertise of a data scientist to explore soil data, provide agronomic recommendations, and develop solutions actionable by agronomists and farmers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

– Participate in the design and implementation of data analysis projects, including defining objectives, success metrics, and analysis methodology in line with the needs of other departments.

– Conduct complex data analyses, ensuring they are properly executed and interpreted, and that the results are based on sound data and analysis.

– Work closely with other departments, such as the Data Science, R&D,Customer Success,Marketing,Product departments, etc., to understand the data needs and business objectives.

– Support the management in creating presentations that showcase data using clear, concise, and useful graphs and tables with the aim of persuading (for example, presentations to current or prospective clients).

– Support the management in handling, evaluating, and interpreting data to draw conclusions for strategic thinking in support of the company’s business vision.

– Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the results of data analysis to internal and external stakeholders.

– Establish quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the data and analyses produced by the team.

– Integrate new data into databases as needed and contribute to the development of data management, storage, and processing architecture.

– Run and configure existing predictive models on new data and report the findings to the Data Science and Customer Success teams.

– Conduct a comparative analysis by examining the differences or similarities between predictive model performance and client use cases.

– Collaborate with the data science and infrastructure teams to enhance existing data analysis tools, identify opportunities for process and performance improvements in data analysis, and foster innovation within the team by exploring new data analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies.

– Ensure that the team complies with data protection regulations and ethical best practices when collecting, using, and managing data.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

A university degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related field is often required. A master’s degree or higher may be an asset.

– A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar field.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Technical skills

– Mastery of commonly used data analysis tools and programming languages (Python mandatory), as well as data visualization tools.

– Expertise in data manipulation and transformation, including data collection, cleaning, and preparation.

– Expertise in developing advanced tools for analyzing and visualizing complex data. Knowledge in handling georeferenced data and soil science is an asset.

– Industrial experience in adapting machine learning techniques to real-world challenges (domain adaptation, semi-supervised learning, soft labeling, time series analysis, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.).

– A strong understanding of statistical concepts, machine learning, and predictive analysis.

– The ability to design analysis methodologies, develop models, and interpret results.

– The ability to simplify statistical results through concise and easily understandable presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

– The ability to showcase data through graphs and tables with the aim of convincing internal and external stakeholders.

Cross functional skills

– Excellent ability to communicate complex information clearly and understandably, both in writing and orally, particularly in the creation of reports and presentations.

– The ability to understand the needs of internal and external stakeholders, as well as to provide relevant data analyses to support their decision-making.

– Knowledge of data protection regulations and ethical best practices related to data usage is a plus.

– The ability to adapt to changes within the team and to adjust data analysis processes to the evolving needs of the company and the market.
